The Intuit Inc. launched Innovative Merchant Solutions (IMS) in the year 1999.Intuit is also responsible for the software named as QuickBooks; hopefully that would ring some bells about the company. Intuit decided to buy Innovative Merchant Solutions in the year 2003 based upon how productive and dynamic the industry has and will become.

Summarizing what Innovative Merchant Solutions is really all about and what the company has been uproot for the past ten or so years, one sees quite a number of complaints under their profile on BBB and RipOffReport; almost 493 with the former and 120 in the latter. One can argue that they have been in business for a long time and expanded quite as much as well but this amount is insanely huge for even them. You can look into other companies of similar size and life span and you will notice that they have not reached the similar amount of complains against them as IMS.

If you will be fortunate enough to get a good sales rep then definitely a good deal is on its way to you. However, if an inexperience sales representative gets his hands on you then you will be just adding to the already filled bucket of complaints against IMS.

T is on the safe side, do some research on your own before heading for Innovative Merchant Solutions’ door. Look up their sales representative and narrow them down to the professional ones who have a good background.

You’ll be able to find some verifiable testimonials on the IMS site, but some of them seem outdated. I received two responses out of all the ones that I contacted. Both merchants have been processing with IMS for years, and both were very happy with their service.

The online digital application is secured, but I’m not sure who the SSL certificate is through (i.e. Verisign, McAfee etc…).

Customer Service:
I have never worked directly with IMS, so I don’t know how their customer service is, but if you read through some of the complaints, you’ll notice a pattern of people talking about bad customer service.
