Innovative Merchant Solutions Review

Innovative Merchant Solutions Review

Author

Overview:
The Intuit Inc. launched Innovative Merchant Solutions (IMS) in the year 1999.Intuit is also responsible for the software named as QuickBooks; hopefully that would ring some bells about the company. Intuit decided to buy Innovative Merchant Solutions in the year 2003 based upon how productive and dynamic the industry has and will become.

Summarizing what Innovative Merchant Solutions is really all about and what the company has been uproot for the past ten or so years, one sees quite a number of complaints under their profile on BBB and RipOffReport; almost 493 with the former and 120 in the latter. One can argue that they have been in business for a long time and expanded quite as much as well but this amount is insanely huge for even them. You can look into other companies of similar size and life span and you will notice that they have not reached the similar amount of complains against them as IMS.

However, Innovative Merchant Solutions does not only have a negative side to itself. If you skim through their website, you will notice that their ‘Support’ page is quite… let’s just say‘Supportive’! They have provided the merchants with all the relevant and required information to educate them in the way of the industry’s working. Their testimonials are well written and verifiable. You can contact their authors on your own as well and get a feedback.

Like some companies in the industry Innovative Management Solutions works with the ides of independent Sales representatives. S basically your experience with IMS will come down to sheer luck. If you will be fortunate enough to get a good sales rep then definitely a good deal is on its way to you. However, if an inexperience sales representative gets his hands on you then you will be just adding to the already filled bucket of complaints against IMS.

T is on the safe side, do some research on your own before heading for Innovative Merchant Solutions’ door. Look up their sales representative and narrow them down to the professional ones who have a good background.

Negative Reviews:
In order to read authentic complaints against Innovative Merchant Solutions, get connected to RipOffReport; one of the most reliable sources online in such scenarios.

They have 120 complaints lodged against them over there. However, with that said make sure that you do not let this factor cloud your judgment. Read through the complaints and keep an unbiased mind. Yes the number is a huge one but so is the size of the company. It is expected that they would have disappointed merchants on their way to success. It is just that the reason behind the poor rating is that when you compare Innovative Merchant Solutions to other companies of the same size, you notice a smaller complain margin in their cases.

The plus point of Innovative Merchant Solutions is that they have a representative assigned to handle and answer these queries and feedback which is good as it mostly result sin the problem being resolved.

Common Complaints:

Most of the complaints are about withheld funds, bad post-approval customer service and deceptive marketing and sales practices.

Verifiable Testimonials/References:
You’ll be able to find some verifiable testimonials on the IMS site, but some of them seem outdated. I received two responses out of all the ones that I contacted. Both merchants have been processing with IMS for years, and both were very happy with their service.

Security/Privacy:
The online digital application is secured, but I’m not sure who the SSL certificate is through (i.e. Verisign, McAfee etc…).

Customer Service:
I have never worked directly with IMS, so I don’t know how their customer service is, but if you read through some of the complaints, you’ll notice a pattern of people talking about bad customer service.

Let us know about your experience with IMS if you have any.

Seasonal downtime is offered, but again, it will be provided on a case by case basis.

Product/Service Offering:
Retail (Credit/Debit), Internet (e-Commerce), Wireless, Mail Order/Telephone Order (MOTO), Gift & Loyalty.

Product/Service Specialty:
No specialty, but since IMS is owned by Intuit, their biggest advantage is that they easily integrate with the Quickbooks software suite.
